HOPE is the Fifth opus of my INSIGHT odyssey, a visual ballad documenting my search for the Golden Fleece.
This series features paintings but also includes digital drawings (Sketchbook), videos, writings (Addendum) and a tabloid format book. (left)
PAINTINGS
Because of my progressively limited vision, I can no longer control the brush or pen as I once did, but I can still compose with intent. Take note, these paintings are physical artifacts, not flattened images on a screen. They have depth, scale, surface texture and history as they are evolve over time. They truely should be experienced in person. The page INSIGHT 5 paintings includes some video scans of the work. I will continue to explore ways to experience the paintings on-line.
SKETCHBOOK
INSIGHT 5 sketchbook is a page of digital iPad media done to work out possibilities for the paintings. These will be posted on my Instagram. In the book, they are included in the ADDENDUM.
ADDENDUM
These paintings are influenced by many evolving areas of interest (aka Rabbit Holes) I encountered during this time. I kept notes on those that had a profound effect on me. Those reflections are very much a part of the series and I needed to find a way to include them. Consider these musings as the series’ playlist. Or recipe. They are included in the book and are being posted in my blog.
