Micheal
Ovitz
—July, 1997
Originally done for UPSIDE magazine, I clearly remember the morning I
started painting this piece. I heard on the radio that the fashion designer
Versace had been murdered in front of his villa.
This piece however was about Ovitz's incredibly generous severance pay
for leaving his failed tenure at Disney. It's a kind of "if my friend's
could see me now" idea but there's a few subliminally placed Mickey
Mouse ears in there too. Please don't ask me If he's supposed to be nude
under the robe? |
